I am a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at Amazon Web Services in Seattle, where I lead the EC2 Pricing Engineering organization — a team of 50+ engineers across five teams, building the commercial infrastructure behind EC2 Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and enterprise private pricing.
I hold a Master’s in Software Systems from BITS Pilani and a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the University of Kerala. I have been leading engineering teams since 2006, starting in India before relocating to the US in 2012. Since then I have led organizations at Capital One and Amazon Web Services — growing from individual contributor to a leader of leaders overseeing 50+ engineers.
I am a named co-inventor on 11 issued US patents across cloud computing, analytics, and distributed systems. My work has spanned streaming analytics at Comcast’s scale, cloud-native financial systems at Capital One serving 1,000+ data scientists, and the pricing and commercial infrastructure underpinning AWS EC2.
Outside of engineering, I write about leadership, team dynamics, and building high-performing organizations. I speak at industry conferences — including AWS re:Invent and Tableau Conference — on cloud adoption, analytics, and engineering at scale.
I live in Sammamish, WA with my wife and two daughters. On weekends, you’ll find me somewhere in the Cascades.
